DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRIES


Purpose of Ministry: to equip the Junior & Senior High students so that they, as scripture instructs, may have ample opportunities to:

  1. Come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ;
  2. That through that faith they may grow in knowledge of Him and His love for them;
  3. Become equipped to share the "Good News" of Christ with others; and
  4. Understand the importance and value in a close personal walk with Jesus Christ.

In addition, to equip Youth staff members so that they:

  1. Will be able to teach and lead in the areas of their giftedness;
  2. Build positive relationships with youth to encourage them in their walk of faith; and
  3. Grow in their own faith in God.

Ministry Expectations:

  1. Maintain a closer personal walk with Christ on a daily basis;
  2. Maintain a healthy relationship with wife and children, and family time away from ministry;
  3. Will be willing to be "mentored" by elders, specifically the lead teaching elder;
  4. Be accountable to the council of elders;
  5. Be a strong Biblical equipper of staff to do the work of the ministry;
  6. Agrees with the concept of an elder-led body of believers;
  7. Evaluate and develop youth staff to be equippers and establish lasting relationship with youth;
  8. Evaluate and implement short- and long-term vision for Youth Program;
  9. Plan and develop Sunday School classes for both Junior High and senior High students;
  10. Plan and develop week-day program for youth;
  11. Work closely with deacons in establishing budget for Youth Ministry; and
  12. Be in attendance at Leadership Council meetings monthly.

Personal Qualifications:

  1. A mature believer in Jesus Christ, not a recent convert;
  2. Spiritually mature individual who has had life experience in all aspects of Youth Ministry;
  3. Married; and
  4. Strong Biblical equipper, and staff builder, able to impart to both staff and youth a solid Biblical worldview.
