CVBC Drama: "A Rock and a Hard Place"

On Wednesday, April 7, 2004, the drama team from Chippewa Valley Bible Church, under the direction of Brenda Street, produced a dramatic presentation called "A Rock and a Hard Place," a contemporary play about Christ, viewed through the eyes of Simon Peter. This was a dress rehearsal done for the AWANA kids and leaders at church, in preparation for the dinner theater on Thursday and the performance on Good Friday. Here are some digital photos I took with my Olympus c2100uz. - Tom Arneberg

Here's what author Lee Shackelford writes:

"A Rock And A Hard Place" focuses on the relationship between Jesus and Peter. When we referred to the Gospels for guidance, our reading suggested that Jesus was passionately devoted to all three members of His "inner circle" -- the ubiquitous Peter, James, and John -- in spite of their stubborn insistence on arguing with Him and with each other, and their bullheaded resistance to the more dangerous aspects of the Master's teaching. He loved them, not for who they had been but for who they were going to be."
