Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes are due next Sunday. You can take a shoe box, fill it with gifts for a child, and return it to CVBC by November 21. See table in the lobby for more details. You can also choose to Build a Box online as an option, through December 31. Go to www.samaritanspurse.org.
Christmas for Missionaries: All are encouraged to sign the cards on the table in the lobby for our supported missionaries. We’ll send them a card and a Christmas “love offering” after November 21. If you wish to donate to the financial gift, note “Christmas for Missionaries” on the envelope or the memo line.
The Unfinished Ending
Acts 28:17-31
Main Point: There is one unchanging ______________ of Jesus but there are two _________________ to this message: Reception or Rejection. So our job as Christians is to ______________ the message again and again.
1. There is One ________________.
2. There is ______________________.
3. There is _______________.
Small Group Questions:
1. What is something that stood out to you from the passage or sermon?
2. How do you ensure that we do not have dull hearts (v.27) as Christians?
3. What from the entire book of Acts encouraged you? What did you learn overall?
Back of Bulletin:
Giving Tree 2021
The Giving Tree is a way to minister to families who are in financial need around the holidays by providing gifts through the Spirit of Christmas program. Spirit of Christmas aids the community by taking applications from families, recording wish lists of needs/gift ideas, and supplying area businesses and churches with the tags identifying those items. Then they collect and distribute the gifts to the families.
How does it work?
Look for the Christmas tree in the foyer and:
Choose a tag from it & sign your name to the corresponding number.
Purchase some or all of the requested items on the tag.
Return the gifts unwrapped. Due date is November 28 to have the gifts back at CVBC.
OR drop a monetary donation in the offering box (note: Giving Tree on your check or envelope) and it will either go toward filling a tag, or be donated to Spirit of Christmas.
CVBC has been involved with this Christmas assistance program for many years, and the people in charge have been grateful for the surprising generosity of our congregation. We have consistently accepted and filled 50 tags annually, which helps so many families in our area.
Thank you, CVBC, for your willingness to bless others in this way.
