Back of Bulletin: CVBC Ministry Highlight

Welcome Ministry

Christian hospitality differs from social entertaining. Entertaining focuses on the host. Christian hospitality focuses on the guest. It is our desire that all people who enter the church will sense the love and grace of Jesus; that the atmosphere alone will minister to them.

Coffee Corner Ministry (currently in need of volunteers)

A simple cup of coffee can make a difference in anyone's day and it helps stir up conversation between new and old friends alike. These are just a few reasons that we host a coffee ministry here at CVBC. Gathering Grounds is tucked away a bit from our main area, but just ask if you don’t see it. We want to welcome ALL who would like a cup of coffee/tea and to visit with fellow church family before or after service.

To lead or join the Coffee Corner Team, contact the church office (723-2872 or office@cvbc.net).

Ushering Ministry (on rotation - more volunteers welcome!)

The ushering ministry is a vital part of the CVBC welcoming atmosphere.  As one of the first contacts on Sunday morning it is a great way to connect with members and visitors to CVBC.

The usher schedule is set three months at a time, and members of the team select the Sundays that work best for them. With the team approach each usher is normally scheduled only two or three times per quarter. Ushers can sign up individually, but some families choose to serve together as a team.

  • Qualifications: An inviting smile, warm disposition, friendly handshake, and a heart for serving.

  • Duties: Attend the doors and greet people as they enter the sanctuary, distribute the weekly bulletin, help find seats as the sanctuary fills up, count/record attendance, pick up bulletins left in pews between services.

GREETERS:

  • Duties: Attend to the building entry doors and greet people as they  arrive on Sunday morning before and between services.
