Ministry Highlight: Youth Mission Trip - TUCSON, AZ
Thank you, CVBC, for sending, supporting and praying for us. We will be in Tucson from July 9-16 on a short term mission trip with Praying Pelicans Missions and staying at our host and partner church Hope Community. In our short time we will get to experience a wide variety of local ministries including:
· BBQ Meal outreach - Sunday
· Homeless ministry - Monday
· Gospel Rescue Mission (similar to our Hope Gospel) - Tuesday AM
· Refugee ministry with Goshen International - Tuesday PM
· Ministry to local police departments - Wednesday
· Thursday/Friday will be open days for us to explore the Tucson area.
A little background on Tucson:
Tucson is one of the sunniest cities in America with an average of 350 sunny days out of the year! They are also one of the poorest cities and, according to a 2012 stat, the 6th poorest city in the US. The University of Arizona, Missile Systems, and Davis-Monthan Air Force base are the biggest employers for the city of Tucson.
You can pray for the specific outreaches each day, and also for:
· flights, rental cars, sleeping arrangements (all the logistics)
· good health with change in climate (105 degrees) and food
· great unity within our team and with the group from Colorado
· development and understanding of spiritual gifts
· growing our hearts for mission work
