What’s Happening at CVBC
· Today begins Small Groups week.
· Adult Sunday School starts a new topic today! Join us in room 50 at 9:00am for a three-week series on personal evangelism. How do we prepare our hearts to share our faith with those we care about, and how can we effectively speak with truth and love into the lives of others? Lessons 2 & 3 will be held Nov. 6 & 13.
· There will be NO Sunday School on October 30 (4K through Adults).
· The November 5 Improv/Comedy Night has been canceled.
· We continue the Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry. Get a shoe box in the lobby, fill with items for a child (choose age & gender) then return them to the church by Nov. 6. The boxes and gift idea sheets are available after the service. See insert for more information.
· Our next Membership Class will be held Sunday, November 13, at noon. Lunch is included! Learn more about CVBC and who we are, and what it means to be a member of a church body. We hold a membership class approximately every 3 months. Sign up in the lobby.
· November 17 is our annual Thanksgiving Meal for Seniors (55+). Sign up in the lobby! Mark your calendar for Thursday, 11/17 at 11:30am.
FREEDOM Recovery meets 3x weekly: Tues.-1pm, Thurs.-7pm, and Sat.-8am. We use the Life Recovery Bible 12-Step Program. Join us! Contact Jerry at (715) 379-0200 or email solfestjerry499@gmail.com.

Ministry Highlight: Student Ministry
If you are a student in middle or high school and you want to go deeper in your faith and your friendships, consider joining one or all of the following student ministry opportunities:
· Sunday School: 9:00am | School Year
· Youth Group: Wednesdays 7-9pm | Year-Round
A typical Wednesday night includes time to connect with peers, worship music, Bible lesson, prayer and discussion on how to apply Scripture in our lives. Youth Group is for grades 6-12.
· Youth Group Retreats:
We have three different weekend retreats planned for the year going to Minneapolis (missions-focused), Green Bay (Districts Youth Conference) and Rice Lake (focus on discipleship). We love going away for a weekend to build friendships, make memories and learn about following Jesus from other people.
The YOUTH FALL RETREAT (Minneapolis) is next weekend, Oct. 28-30! If you haven’t gotten your registration in, please do so ASAP! The Fall Retreat is for all Youth Group, grades 6-12. Goals are time away together, serving together, missions/diversity, and a preview to the summer 2023 ministry.
· Mission Trips: Annually
Every year our youth group is sent out to serve, teach, and share the Good News of Jesus to those who need it. We often alternate between international and domestic trips. Past trips: Minneapolis, Tucson, Mexico, and several trips to Guatemala.
Contact Alan at aland@cvbc.net for more youth group information.
