Women’s Mentoring
Mentoring for Women of CVBC
The relationship between an older and younger woman is what we call mentoring.
The Bible tells older (more mature) Christian women to teach younger women.
Titus 2:3-5 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
We believe Titus is a call for all women to participate in mentoring relationships. Because of this we have created a mentoring program that offers training for mentors and a variety of curricula to use to guide time in the Word while building a relationship with one another and praying for each other. We define Mentor as a women who is a member at CVBC and is mature in her faith and a Mentee as any post-high school woman interested in having a mentor. And we ask each to commit to meeting weekly or bi-weekly for 1 year. Our mentor year is March – February.
Our curriculum options are:
Flourish, Books 1 & 2: This is a mentoring curriculum written by members of Passion City Church in Atlanta, Georgia. It was created to help develop the relationship between a Mentor and a Mentee. It is fully based on scripture and the main focus is diving into the Word of God. Nothing else is needed except your love for the Lord and your time to spend in the Word and with your mentee/mentor.
A reading plan and journal that will walk you through several books of the Bible over the course of one year.
If neither of these options feels like a good fit, we will work with each mentoring team to find something that meets the needs of the pair.
If you want more information on mentoring, send an email to women@cvbc.net or talk with a Mentor Team member.
Thank you,
