Missionaries with Converge International Ministries

Minnesota

Since 1981 the Pedersons have been on a journey to make Jesus famous wherever He would take them.  This journey first took them to Venezuela where they spent 12 years serving in MK education and creative outreach ministries.  Their focus then transitioned to mobilizing churches and individuals to the nations though leading short-term teams to a dozen countries.  These teams varied from traditional service and outreach, to prayer journeys in restricted-access countries, to Advocacy teams serving refugees in Turkey.

Today they are driven by the unprecedented opportunity of reaching people from least-reached nations who have migrated to our communities with the Good News of Jesus through Discovery Bible Study and making disciples who make disciples (DMM).

The Pedersons are leaders of Kingdom Practicum, a 6-month cross-cultural training program. They are also leaders of a badminton outreach ministry focused on reaching the nearly 10,000 Thai Buddhist in Minneapolis / St. Paul.

John’s passion is networking and mobilizing others in the “task remaining” to impact Unreached People Groups with the good news of the gospel.  Kathie’s evangelistic heart is always looking for creative ways such as mime, drama, storying, and Discovery Bible Study to communicate the timeless message of Jesus to the nations.

Prayer Requests:

  • For our son Jonathan who is fighting pancreatic cancer. Pray also for his wife, Salem. There is a CaringBridge website for Jonathan that you can visit to check for updates. Go to caringbridge.org and type in Jonathan Pederson.

  • Ongoing prayer is also needed for God to ignite a disciple-making movement among the least-reached people that He is purposely bringing to the Twin Cities.

  • That God would provide for our needs to continue in this ministry.

  • For protection for us and our family as we engage in spiritual warfare.
