Back of Bulletin: Ruby’s Pantry
Ever wondered about Ruby’s Pantry?
HOW IT WORKS:
GET OVERAGES FROM FOOD COMPANIES
Ruby’s Pantry partners with food manufacturers, distributors and producers to gather their surplus and overages.
SORT FOR DISTRIBUTION
100's of different kinds of foods are gathered and sorted at Ruby’s Pantry Warehouse Distribution Centers.
SUPPLY TO POP-UP PANTRY LOCATIONS
Ruby’s Pantry delivers a semi-truck load of food to CVBC (a “Pop-Up Pantry”) the third Tuesday of the month 2:30-5pm. Our volunteers handle the sorting and distribution for the guests.
ATTEND & RECEIVE FOOD BUNDLES
Typically guests come into CVBC with two boxes, register and get their food to enjoy. However, until social distancing requirements due to COVID-19 are behind us, guests drive up, donate their $20, and volunteers load the food into their trunks !
RUBY’S PANTRY MISSION
To activate people in being alert to the needs of others and to be proactive in encouraging faith, showing friendship and meeting tangible needs of neighbors, friends and strangers regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.
Ruby’s Pantry is for ANYONE that eats! There is no income or residency requirement and Ruby’s Pantry is for anyone looking to extend their monthly grocery budget. Each guest brings a $20 donation and receives an abundance of grocery items. Ruby’s Pantry is not government funded and is a 501 C3. Each donation is used to cover operational costs like trucking, gas, and warehouse staff and 10% of the donation is then donated to local Chippewa Falls non-profit organizations. All of the food is donated by corporate food donors making it possible to reach more families each month at locations across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
