From a translated Email newsletter dated May 5, 2021 :
Dear Brothers and Friends of CVBC,
May God keep them all and their families in health and blessing.
We returned from the tribe yesterday. We planned to return on Monday, but it was not possible because the unemployed had all the roads closed.
Many thanks for the offering sent through Jaime (Jim) Walton; may God pay you and keep saving and blessing you greatly.
We are fine around here, but the strikes and protests are cruel, already he overflowed with delinquency, doing damage and stealing. The wreckage that they have caused are countless and in that there are many Venezuelans infiltrators. Here there are already Venezuelans even in the soup. They walk all over parts taking jobs away from Colombians and many of them are criminals, killing even policemen. There are already many in Colombian prisons.
To this problem we must add the virus that is in its third peak, more severe than in the past tense. Have died even more than 500 people in one day. Here it had not been so serious, but now clinics and the hospital are already without quotas for the amount of sick people.
Winter is also terrible, almost throughout the country. In the news said that several towns in Meta were flooded and some Villages in other regions are isolated by landslides in the roads and falling bridges.
Well brothers, many greetings, pray for Colombia and for us, that the problems are solved and we can live in peace.
Thank you for your friendship and your valuable support.
Always in love with Christ:
Edgar and Clementina Buenaventura
