What’s Happening at CVBC

  • Tonight is our monthly prayer service. Join us! Meal at 5:00pm for those who can make it; prayer at 6:00pm. All are welcome.

  • August 8—September 12, we will worship together at just one Sunday service at 9:00am. Our outdoor services (Aug. 15 and Sept. 12) will still be held at 10:00am. Starting September 19 we will go back to our two services at 9:00 and 10:30am.

  • We’ve added an additional blood drive in August in order to help meet the serious need for blood this summer. The next Red Cross Blood Drive will be on Friday, August 6, from noon to 6pm. To donate, visit redcrossblood.org.

  • ·Centershot volunteers needed: Centershot Youth Archery Ministry will begin again this September! We are looking for men and women who love ministering to and mentoring children to help out. The program will begin Saturday, September 18th and will meet on Saturdays from 10:00am until 12:00pm through October 23rd. Our shooting range is at CVBC. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, contact Dennis Wolf at 715.313.4311 or lennywolf@gmail.com.

A Conquering God
Isaiah 56-59

  • Chapter 56: The Conqueror's kingdom

  • Chapter 57: The Conqueror's compassion

  • Chapter 58: The Conqueror's people

  • Chapter 59: The Conqueror's presence

Small group questions:

  1. What is something that stood out to you from the passage or sermon?

  2. What are some ways we can emulate the example of God's family shown in Isaiah 56? Who are the "foreigners and eunuchs" in our society?

  3. In the sermon we talked about some reasons why it is difficult to accept that God can be a God of wrath. Is this topic hard for you? What are some reasons for that?

  4. What is one way you as an individual or we as a church could better care for the vulnerable and oppressed as described in Isaiah 58?

Back of Bulletin: Pray for our Elders!
