From the most recent email (May 26):
Luke 11:1 “It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.’”
We are privileged to hear the questions the disciples ask as we read the Biblical account of the earthly ministry of our Lord. We think of John as the powerful proclaimer of the coming Messiah and he was, but prayer was at the core of his curriculum. The disciples of Jesus were impacted by Jesus' attention to prayer. May the pattern of prayer by both John and our Lord challenge and motivate us to never stop growing in the life of prayer and faith.
We give thanks to the Lord for refreshing and encouraging visits with friends and supporters in St. Louis, Seattle, Spokane, Troy, ID, and now in Denver. The Lord has given us good health and safe travels. Would you please pray for a good outcome for one of our faithful supporters who requires surgery for his legs and hips?
We rejoice that Raj gave a good testimony at his baptism the Sunday before last at Bible Centre. Before coming to Bible Centre, Raj was mentored by our missionary colleague in Hamilton, New Zealand.
We fly to St Louis today for a night with friends and begin car travels for the remainder of our furlough. We plan to drive to Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Atlanta area, and Florida in the coming weeks to see family and supporters.
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. May you enjoy the communion of prayer and the joy of the Lord in all you do.
Jack and Bev
Prayer Request: Jack’s brother is in ill health and on hospice (as of their last update). Please pray for the McMahan family.
