Back of Bulletin: Missionary Highlight - Francisco & Joyce Lievano

From their most recent newsletter (August 25, 2021):

 Praise the Lord!

  • Let’s start with the most recent news. Both Francisco and I have COVID. Francisco has no symptoms and I’m always sleepy. Praise God, our Healer, Sustainer and Provider is our constant source of peace, joy and all we need.

  • By God’s mercy and provision, we both received the COVID antibodies filtration (Regeneron) immediately. We bypassed all the fancy medical centers in the city where we would have waited several days, and went to Emergency at a small hospital nearby and got immediate attention. Within a few hours, I felt 90% well, with no cough or shortness of breath!

  • Francisco hasn’t missed a day of his daily routines and [Bible translation] work schedule. Once again, he is patiently rereading the Old Testament, syllable by syllable! His eagle eyes have found maybe 8 mistakes from Genesis to Isaiah, usually a problem of agreement between abstract nouns and a related pronoun several verses later.

  • In spite of COVID, I prepared the PowerPoint for our Saturday night Bible study via ZOOM with our group from Caracas, now spread out in the Americas. I was to team-teach with my sister Sandra, but God            enabled her to lead the study, a huge first-time victory!

  • On Monday Vidal and Daicy, Venezuelans from our Bible study, drove from N.E. of Orlando to bring us almost 5 quarts of homemade chicken soup! Daicy brought 6 fancy blouses she made for me! Such an outburst of love and at such a special moment!

  • Today, Wednesday, the gals I work with at the Food Pantry called to find out what was up. An hour later they came with a bunch of groceries! I asked my girlfriend Kathy to pick up some fruit and veggies for us from the Food Pantry, but she went to a big market and got an assortment of produce for us! And a wonderful chicken soup!

Enjoy your pleasant places and delightful inheritance!!!
