What’s Happening at CVBC
All Church Family Meeting November 15 at 6:30pm: We’ll finish out the teaching time and discuss the future/priorities of CVBC. All who call CVBC their church home are strongly encouraged to attend, whether or not you went to any of the previous teaching nights. There will be an option to join the meeting via Zoom.
The Giving Tree is in the foyer filled with tags from the Spirit of Christmas! Take a tag, sign it out (important!) then shop and return gifts unwrapped by the November 29 deadline. If you'd like to get a tag via email instead of in person, email office@cvbc.net and we’ll get you set up. You can also donate money and let someone else do the shopping. Drop it in the offering box (note “Giving Tree”) or donate online with electronic giving (designate “Giving Tree”).
Operation Christmas Child is in full swing, now through November 22. GOALS: 100 Shoebox Gifts * $1,500 * 1,000,000 Prayers.
This is a great opportunity for our local church to be united in a global outreach. See the table in the foyer for shoeboxes and gift ideas. Contact Christine Bishop with questions or ideas: bishop.christinem@gmail.com or 715-944-9403.

ETHNOS360 (formerly "New Tribes Mission") Brazil
This past summer has been challenging for all of us, and our CVBC missionaries are no exception. In a letter from August Brenda Poulson, working among the Yanomami people in Brazil, writes:
This year has not been easy for anyone and the uncertainty of the future continues, but praise God that He never changes. During these months we have all prayed for family members and others who have suffered and struggled. Many have passed away. Just over a week ago the husband of one of our good friends here in Boa Vista died of the virus and complications from previous health issues.
Thank you for praying for your Yanomami brothers and sisters. We were thrilled to hear of a baptismal service they held after we left the village, and that 16 people took that step. Several people expressed their faith in Christ after we left; it's so encouraging to know the Word continues to be taught and lives changed! Ezekiel and Raul continue to work on the translation as well; please pray for wisdom and strength for them as well.
There has been a food shortage again. Please pray for a way to get food in to the villages. On the 11th of August, with MAF's help, we were able to send some food to the village by plane. We know it didn't relieve their hunger for very many days but we prayed it would be an encouragement to the believers who were praying for the Lord to provide. We continue to pray for God's mercy during this crisis and that He will show us other ways we can help.
Besides the usual malaria, the Yanomami are now suffering with Covid19. In July and August they had contact with a round house group farther down river, which is closer to "civilization" and had several cases, and contracted the virus themselves.
Thanks for your continued prayers and messages of encouragement.
May we keep trusting our faithful Father, who holds the universe in His hands and keeps us close to His heart.
Gratefully, Brenda
