What’s Happening at CVBC
All Church Family Meeting TONIGHT at 6:30pm: We’ll finish out the teaching time and discuss the future/priorities of CVBC. All who call CVBC their church home are strongly encouraged to attend, whether or not you went to any of the previous teaching nights. There will be an option to join the meeting via Zoom.
CVBC Families: Celebrate the season of Christmas with an Advent kit! Each kit has a nativity scene to put together, an Advent packet filled with weekly activities you can do with your children, and 5 Advent candles! They will be available for pick up after service at the CVBC Kids check-in counter, as well as during church office hours (9am-4pm) Monday through Thursday. Advent begins Sunday, November 29.
The Giving Tree is in the foyer with Spirit of Christmas gift tags. Take a tag, sign it out (important!) then shop and return gifts unwrapped by the November 29 deadline. If you'd like to get a tag via email instead of in person, email office@cvbc.net and we’ll get you set up. You can also donate money and let someone else do the shopping. Drop it in the offering box (note “Giving Tree”) or donate online with electronic giving (designate “Giving Tree”).
What goes into the shoebox is fun… what comes out is eternal! Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are due back next Sunday, November 22nd. We are well on our way to meeting the goal of 100 shoeboxes and $1,500. Please be in prayer for the ministry, for the children receiving the gifts, and for the logistics of making it all happen - now through Christmas. Then we will also be well on our way to the 1,000,000 prayers!
Sermon: Teaching and Going
Acts 13:1-12
Main Point: God commands and empowers the local church to MAKE DISCIPLES.
Making Disciples in a local church looks like:
_________________ the Word of God in the Church.
_____________ with the Word into the World.
Small Group Questions:
What is something that stood out to you from the passage or sermon?
Presently, how are you taught the Word of God? Do you see the fruit of it over your life? In the future, is there any way you can improve in your learning of God?
How does this passage confront our excuses to share the Gospel in the world? Who are some people in your life that you are lalled to actively share the Gospel with? What are they pursuing in life and how can Jesus be their remedy?

Fellowship Fund: Helping those in need
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10
The CVBC Fellowship Fund exists to help and assist those in our church body and our community who are in a time of need. We believe that we are called to love and take care of our own church family, as well as those seeking help from outside the church.
The Fellowship Fund continues to exist due to the faithful giving of our congregation. If you are interested in giving to this fund, please do so by identifying your donation as Fellowship Fund. Thank you for your faithful & generous giving!
If you are in a season of need and would like to request assistance through the church, please stop by the CVBC office to fill out the Fellowship Fund questionnaire.
Office: Information management
One priority of the CVBC office is to maintain the church database so we are able to communicate to the church body effectively.
Have you given the office your contact information? Is it all up to date? If you’ve never done so, or need to make some changes, please fill out the Welcome/Prayer card and drop in the white box.
Another service we offer is a quarterly address directory and phone list. We only publish family information when given the authorization to do so. Are you included on the phone list or in the CVBC Directory? If you would like to be, please use the Welcome card to let the office know. We look forward to hearing from you, and adding your name to our records.
