What’s Happening at CVBC

  • We are excited to welcome four new members to the CVBC Family: Mark & Jennifer Bohannon, and Jay & LaWanda Thompson.

  • Christmas Eve services will be at 2:00, 4:00, and 5:30pm on Thursday, December 24. The 2:00pm service will be masks-required. All three services will offer physically-distant seating, and additional seating will be available in the Fellowship Hall for all services, as will live stream.

  • We have copies of “Candy Cane Christmas” - a Sunday school lesson for parents or grandparents to do with your children! It's for children of all ages. You can find this lesson in your email or grab a hard copy of it at the CVBC Kids counter in the foyer.

  • It’s that time of year again! Check your church mailboxes for 2021 wall calendars and maybe some Christmas cards/letters. Come in during the week if that’s better for you.

  • Christmas Poinsettias have been purchased for decorating the church. If you’d like to donate $10 in honor or memory of a loved one, please note the designation and the person’s name (optional) which will be typed on a card. The poinsettia plants can be taken home after the last of the Christmas Eve services, or on Sunday, Dec. 27.

  • FREEDOM Recovery meets 3x weekly: Tues.-1pm, Thurs.-7pm, and Sat.-8am. We use the Life Recovery Bible 12-Step Program. Join us! Contact Jerry at (715) 379-0200 or email gsolfest@gmail.com.

Sermon: Zechariah’s Song
Luke 1:5-25, 57-80

Main Point: Praise God that He has NOT forgotten you NOR will He ever forget you.

  • The Lord does not forget the PAIN of His people.

  • The Lord does not forget His PROMISES to His People.

Small Group Questions:

  1. What is something that stood out to you from the passage or sermon?

  2. Where in this passage and in other passages in the Bible do we see people facing real disappointment or pain? What can we learn from these stories about how to deal with our own pain?

  3. What truths about God should we cling to when we feel like He has forgotten us? What passages should we remind ourselves of in hard times?
